LAS VEGAS — XYIENCE announced that Xenergy, the official energy drink of the UFC, has received a nomination for Energy Drink of the Year in the 2011 Bodybuilding.com Supplement Awards.
The winner will be selected by online votes, which are being accepted now through August 15, 2011 at www.Bodybuilding.com/Awards and announced at the Bodybuilding.com Supplement Awards on Sept. 16 at Mr. Olympia in Las Vegas.
The news adds to an already successful year for XYIENCE’s sugar- and calorie-free energy drink brand. In June, Xenergy was named a Breakout Brand by Beverage World and was featured as a cover story in Beverage Spectrum. Earlier this year, Xenergy was named a national brand by Circle K stores. In February, XYIENCE kicked off its Xenergy collector cans series and launched a new flavor, Xenergy Xtreme Fruit Punch, which features XYIENCE team athlete Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy on the can. Last week, the brand announced its second collector can, Xenergy Premium CranRazz, which features an image of Jon “Bones” Jones, UFC light heavyweight champion and XYIENCE team athlete.

“We’re thrilled to receive this nomination; this is a very exciting time in XYIENCE’s history,” says John Lennon, XYIENCE’s president. “Distribution of Xenergy continues to grow throughout the U.S. and it has developed a loyal consumer following that is making it a top contender in the energy drink category.”
Winners will receive a trophy, exposure in ads in top industry magazines, online recognition at Bodybuilding.com and exclusive rights to use the Award of Excellence logo in Web and print promotion. In 2010, more than 315,000 votes were cast for the award series.
