As the sun inched closer and closer to the salty Pacific, the Ferrari 430 Spider hugged yet another tight corner on the narrow, windy road above the Pacific Ocean.
Glancing west across a pristine canyon, the driver noticed the sparkling sunlight dancing across the kelp and cool water as the cirrus clouds turned a remarkable mixture of oranges, yellows, blues and whites.
He then glanced at his watch.
It was a race against the clock. In less than an hour, the sun would be fully engulfed in the 50-degree water, and it would be too dark to take photos. There was no time to waste.
SHOGUN SHOWDOWN
Chuck Liddell once ruled the light-heavyweight division. His vicious knockouts earned the utmost respect of opponents and the adulation of fans.
Recently, he’s hit a bit of a skid, having lost three of his last four fights, but he has the opportunity to get back on track here in a matter of weeks.
The man on the other side of the cage in Montreal will be Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, one of MMA’s toughest young fighters.
Liddell is anticipating that fight like a child anticipates Christmas.
